Make New Socks out of Two Pair of Old Socks

Do you have a pair of socks with holes in the toes or drooping around the top? If you want to save to wear for yourself, here's how--Cut the top off of a pair that have holes in the toes. Find a pair that droop at the top and cut off to the ankle. Now sew the good top with the good bottom. Don't worry about matching--you could color coordinate. Just call them "crazy socks." ha, ha.

Make a Handbag

Another idea--Sew the socks together and make a handbag, leaving one as a pocket for your cellphone and one as a pocket for your keys.

Decide how big your purse is going to be and how many socks you will need. Cut open the sides of the top part of socks that you plan to sew together and hem each side. Next hem these sides together.

Hem the top of the foot of each sock that you cut off. Sew this onto the outside of the purse for a pocket.

Use two socks as a handle. To do this, cut the feet off again, or leave on and just wrap another sock around the middle part where the handle joins to make a padding and hide the fact that these are feet. You could also make a pocket on the handle if you like.
